Socialite, Sam Larry accused of assaulting late singer, Mohbad on multiple occasions, has denied involvement in his death.
Accusations surfaced that the music and promoter, Sammy Larry, along with his associates, reportedly subjected Mohbad to persistent bullying, resulting in adverse effects on the singer.
Allegedly, they influenced show organizers to limit his opportunities, making Mohbad’s life considerably more challenging after his exit from Marlians Record.
Sam Larry faced increased criticism on social media when a video depicting him and a group of individuals harassing the late singer Mohbad surfaced online
In the video, Mohbad and Zlatan were on set for a music video when Larry stormed the scene with some boys targeting Mohbad who scampered away in fear.
Addressing the allegations and clearing the air on the harassment video, Sam Larry could be heard speaking in his native language (Yoruba) while denying his involvement in Mohbad’s death.
In his statement translated to English, he said
“Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Wherever you might be listening to this, my name is Samson Irefolabi Balogun Eletu.
“In everything that is happening, Mohbad is my brother, and I like him. Even when he was at Marlians Records, he knew I loved him, and his wife also knows.”
“Everyone knows I love Mohbad. Everywhere I go, whether it’s Kenya or Dubai, I ask Mohbad to follow me, and I even mentioned that I’ll pay Marlians Records so we can have a show.”
“The fact that we’re fighting doesn’t necessarily involve death. I cannot kill Mohbad. I love him so much; God knows my heart. I love him, and I cannot kill him.”
“I know nothing about his death. The viral video only shows what happened a long time ago. It happened last year when I wasn’t even in Nigeria, and it was circulated online.”
“There’s a video where he was in a wheelchair, and Zlatan is my witness. You can call him and ask him if I touched Mohbad.”

It is worth noting that Sam Larry stated that the video in which they disrupted a video shoot took place last year, whereas the late singer’s complaint against them was dated June 2023.
Furthermore, he asserted that the video showing Mohbad’s bruised skin resulted from a club altercation with Mohbad’s friend, and he insisted that they did not harm Mohbad, despite the visible injuries he sustained.
