New Details on the Upcoming Met Exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”

Vogue has released some of the best art which will be exhibited at the Met. Most of which represents fashion.

Tadao Ando, the renowned Japanese architect, caught some of Lagerfeld’s “creative dynamism” in his design for the museum’s Tisch Gallery, which Bolton characterizes as a “maze” built with the curves and lines that were the building blocks of Lagerfeld’s work.

Like “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” in 2011, “A Line of Beauty” is released not long after the designer’s death. In a recent conversation, Bolton stated that the capacity to react swiftly is critical.

“When a designer dies, there is a lot of revisionism that happens over time; whereas if you can do an exhibition relatively soon after the designer’s death, working with the team, you tap into the realness and rawness of their feelings and thoughts.”
