My music journey isn't about financial gains - Rema makes shocking claim

International music sensation, Divine Ikubor better known as Rema has claimed that he didn’t venture into music for financial gains.

The 21-year-old “Calm Down” singer expressed that he was financially stable even during his days of freestyling and social media posts, which eventually led to his record label discovering him.

During an interview with Korty EO, Rema mentioned that if he hadn’t succeeded in the music industry, he would still be hustling and finding ways to make a living

“If music didn’t work, I will still be pushing that p in the corner while hustling, you understand.

“Even at that point where I was doing freestyles, I didn’t really need to do a freestyle because I needed money. I had money. I was actually good”.

Contrary to Rema’s interview, Singer Asake stated that financial goals led to the motivation behind choosing music over dance.

In a recent interview, Asake fondly tagged as ‘Mr Money’ stated that he chose a music career because he wasn’t sure if pursuing dance would provide the financial success he desired.

Asake highlighted the importance of combining music and dance, explaining that either one alone might come across as uninspiring.

When asked whether he would pursue dancing if it led to substantial success, Asake replied that he would choose to engage in both simultaneously, thereby maximizing his potential for higher earnings. Read more here
