Nollywood actress, Victoria Iyanma has recounted the challenges she faced in her marriage with her ex-husband, Godwin Okrim.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the mother of three recounted how her ex-husband consistently brought his girlfriends to their marital home to torment her, and he continued to threaten either to harm her physically or to have her imprisoned.
Victoria also alleged that her ex-husband subjected her to physical, mental, and psychological abuse. There were moments when she questioned what she had done wrong to end up with him. She expressed being in a state of shock the first time he physically assaulted her because she couldn’t believe it was happening.
Speaking of regrets, Victoria affirmed that she doesn’t regret leaving her acting career for her marriage, primarily because of the three children they had together.
In parts she said;
“I don’t regret abandoning my career for my marriage because I have three beautiful children.
My ex-husband was physically, mentally, and psychologically abusing me. When my husband hit me for the first time, I didn’t believe it, I was in shock. He still threatens to kill me or put me in prison to date.
I always tell myself where did I go wrong? What did I do? But then, they can bring the right package to the wrong address and there is nothing you can do about it”.
Victoria Inyama abandoned a thriving Nollywood career as a peer to Genevieve Nnaji, Kate Henshaw, Jim Iyke and others to go live with her husband in the United Kingdom.
