Jude (MI) Abaga was born on October 4, 1981, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. He’s firstly from the state of Taraba, as his parents, the pastor andMrs. Abaga, are both from Takum. Growing up in Jos with his two siblings-Jesse (Jagz) and Jason Abaga, MI attended Baptist High School,Jos. As a teenager, his interest in music was piqued after his mama bought him introductory musical notation and a 7- key mini piano.

 

Abaga is a Nigerian rapper/ hip- hop and music producer whose lyrical prowess makes him an extraordinaire artist in the country’s music industry. Since first gaining eminence in 2006 together with her song Crowd Mentality,M.I has won multiple awards, including Best Hipsterism- Hop and Best Rap Album at the Hipsterism Hop World Awards; and many appointments from 2008 to date. He’s presently CEO of Chocolate City, a music and entertainment company innovated in 2015.

CAREER


He started his music career in Nigeria after returning in 2003. MI started producing mixtapes with his friend Djinee and that wasn’t the case. right before he released his first mixtape named PYERIBOY.

 

His single coffer gained emotional content on African radio stations and music vid stations similar as MTV Vibe. Not only did Nigerians love it, but the track won awards at the Nigerian Music Videotape Awards.

The release of his first studio album track, Talk About It further corroborated her success and favor in her career. MI was rated8.5/ 10 by Oye Akideinde on 360nobs and won the city People Awards for Best Hipsterism- Hop Artist and Musician of 2008. Motivated by his growing fame, MI released a mixtape in 2009 and 2012 named Illegal Music I and II.

 

He also teamed up with varied musical artists Lindsay, Ice Prince, including his family Jesse Jagz, and others to institute Loopy Music, a company that’s presently incorporating with Chocolate City. After inking with Chocolate City,M.I moved from Jos to Abuja. From there, his recognition glanced from Nigeria to South Africa and the United States, where he was honored by the MTVbase Awards, the Channel O Music Award, as well as the American BET Awards.
