Nigerian gospel singer Sola Allyson has urged her fans, followers and thr world to take the parenting role more seriously as she celebrates children on the ocassion of the World Children’s Day 2021 themed ‘Unite To Reverse The Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic On Children.
The mother of three took to her Instagram page to share a picture of herself and her son, Ayobami, having a conversation, stating that children are so vulnerable and look up to their parents and guardians for protection and life values, hence the need to take parenting more seriously.
“Happy Children’s Day! I loooove children!!! They have my heart, all the time, every child I come across. Children, hearts plain and pure, looking up to the ones who raise them for what to make of life”, Sola Allyson began. “Children, vulnerable as can be, left at the mercy of the examples being laid for them… Children, with no power of their own, no choice but the choice passed to them… Do we not have work to do with these ones? Is it not in our hands how and what they become? Should we not know that they are the society of the future? When we lament about how the society is and the level of decadence now, I ask, “who raised them?”.”
Addressing parents, Sola Allyson added, “Let us take parenting more seriously! Children are not trophies to show off, they are assignments to pass and tasks to fulfil!
Yes, we are grateful for them and are blessed to have them but what choices are we giving them which would largely determine the choices they make? I KNOW it can be tough but when there is will there is a way!
They look up to us for protection and guidance, in every way! In EVERYTHING till they bloom and become whole individuals. A child is a child, everywhere, and the future depends on how we raise them now! Love. Discipline. Discipline. Love. And all which accompany these! Happy Children’s Day!”, she wrote.
