Keke Palmer makes history, win Emmy for Best Game Show Host, beats Steve Hervey, others

American actress, singer and TV host Lauren Keyana “Keke” Palmer has made history as she becomes the first woman in fifteen years to win the Emmy for Best Game Show Host.

Palmer secured the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host for NBC’s Password, marking the category’s inaugural inclusion in the primetime Emmys after transitioning from the daytime awards.

She surpassed Jeopardy!’s hosts Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik, as well as Family Feud’s Steve Harvey and Wheel of Fortune’s Pat Sajak.

Palmer, is the first woman to win the award since 2009 when Meredith Vieira won for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Steve Harvey emerged as the winner last year, while Alex Trebek secured the victory in the three years before that.

In an interview, Palmer said:

“Wow. That is so exciting thank you so much. I’m really just so thankful, I’m almost speechless. I want to thank the people who allowed this to happen, thank you to Jimmy Fallon, thank to NBC.”

Palmer expressed her excitement and gratitude on Instagram following her award win.
