British-Sierra Leonean actor Idris Elba has gained popularity by appearing in high-profile Hollywood films such as “Long Walk to Freedom,” “Beasts of No Nation,” “Luther,” “Zootopia,” “The Suicide Squad,” and more.
His lead role in some of these productions has endeared him to fans, who have always called for him to be featured in movies they believe he will thrill them to watch.
Following the decision of 54-year-old actor Daniel Craig to quit the James Bond franchise by making his final appearance in “No Time To Die” (2021), fans have called for Idris Elba to fill the role. As the debate over who would fit into Daniel Craig’s shoes went on, Idris did not make a comment until the World Government Summit in Dubai (February 13–15, 2023).

The Beast actor rested the debate about becoming the next James Bond by noting that he would not have enough time to appear in the film due to other commitments, noting that “Luther” will soon be released.
Elba said:
“We’ve been working on the television show for about 10 years and so the natural ambition is to take it to the big screen, and so we’re here with the first movie. You know, a lot of people talk about another character that begins with J and ends with B, but I’m not going to be that guy. I’m going to be John Luther. That’s who I am.”
It remains to be seen if Elba will change his mind under fan pressure and take up the role. At the age of 50, Idris Elba has established himself as one of the biggest movie stars across the globe.
During recent visits to Tanzania and Ghana, Elba revealed his intention to expand into Africa and urged the presidents of both countries to key into the movie industry, which is gradually making its way across the globe.
