I’m the pioneer of ‘Classical Afrobeats Music’, not Wizkid or Davido – Ckay asserts [Video]

Ckay, a fast-rising Nigerian singer, has revealed information about his musical genre.

In an interview with Factory 78, Ckay explained why his musical style is so distinct from those of his contemporaries, Wizkid and Davido.

According to CKay, he grew up listening to classical music, can play the guitar and piano, and has other talents that have inspired his sound.

He stated that despite his many talents, he did not want to sound like Davido or Wizkid. Ckay went on to say that his feeling and experience are completely different from theirs, and that singing like them makes no sense.

He also took advantage of the occasion to brag about his brilliance and the fact that he is the first Nigerian artist to combine Afrobeats and Classical music in an EP.
