JACQUARD PRINT
Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, and Valentino have rekindled our love for Jacquard and Baroque prints this year, especially when it comes to summer-wear. You can go crazy and statement with head-to-toe clashing jacquard prints, or dilute it down with neutral or pastel colours.
One statement jacquard print piece is all you really need to make a lasting fashion impression, whether it be at work or out on the town. It is fairly easy to dress-down your prints by teaming them with a denim shirt, or boyfriend jeans.
PURPLE TREND
Purple is the colour of luxury and passion, of princely robes and papal vestments, dazzling gems and florid prose. And now it is the reigning colour of the season. It can be regal, cozy or the perfect shade for a night out. There are many shades of purple and luckily, most of them, like eggplant and violet, work well this season. But do not overwhelm your look: avoid heavy purple eye shadow or matching a purple ensemble with purple accessories.
LIQUID SATIN TREND
For both day and night, liquid satin fabrics give even the most understated pieces a moment in the spotlight. This season Monique Lhuillier has mastered the art of the beautiful evening gown, but for this season on the runway which resembled metal when it caught the light.
BROCADE TREND
Brocade by definition is a rich fabric, usually silk, woven with a raise pattern, typically with gold or silver thread. Look no further than gilded brocade for some serious opulence. The season’s trend for statement comes into its own with rich designs from Roberto Cavalli and MaxMara.Go to town with luxe finishes and wear with feathers and billowing chiffon for an uber feminine look.Add a fierce element with smokey eyes or super high heels.
