Dos

Vitamin C serum should be applied soon after cleansing for optimal results. Usually, a few drops are adequate; adding more is not always preferable. Prior to using moisturizer, let the serum to dry. Applying other products before the serum could prevent your skin from receiving Vitamin C, so it’s crucial to follow this order of application.

Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher after applying your morning moisturizer.

Don’ts

The majority of substances in cosmetics can be safely used with vitamin C. But keep in mind that because Vitamin C is an acid, it shouldn’t be used with other skincare acids like AHAs (like salicylic acid) and BHAs (such as glycolic acid).

Your serum’s pH can be altered by mixing it with other skincare acids, rendering it ineffective. Additionally, it could cause skin inflammation and redness.

Similar to benzoyl peroxide, which is frequently used to treat acne, Vitamin C shouldn’t be combined with it. It is well known that benzoyl peroxide oxidizes vitamin C, decreasing its effectiveness. Use benzoyl peroxide at night and vitamin C in the morning or on different days if both ingredients are in your skincare regimen.
