Maya Jama and Ben Simmons are said to have broken up eight months after they got engaged, glamsquad reports.
The British presenter, 28, and the basketball player, 26, were said to have struggled with their hectic schedules and maintaining a long distance relationship, as Ben lives in Brooklyn and Maya in London.
‘While they both care for each other so much, they truly gave it their all and realize that they just come from two different worlds,’ a source told NY Post of the breakup, adding that it was ‘one of the hardest decisions of their lives.’
‘It’s been a difficult time for them,’ the insider continued, ‘and they’ve realized they don’t have the time they thought they did to devote to this relationship.’
‘They finally realized, as much as they love each other, their nonstop careers and endless travel have made it incredibly impossible to make it work,’ the source added.
Despite calling their romantic relationship off, the couple is said to want to stay in each other’s lives because ‘there is a lot of love between them.’
Maya is currently celebrating her 28th birthday on a girls’ trip to Ibiza.
The latest reports of a breakup come just weeks after the couple denied rumors of a breakup.

According to a source, the couple’s relationship hit rock bottom last month when Maya decided she wanted to focus on her career.
Maya also appeared to deny the report on Twitter. ‘Stop believing sources in papers, please,’ she tweeted the day after the breakup report was published.
