Nollywood actress, Yetunde Bakare has delivered a powerful message to individuals who engage in cyberbullying.
In a post on her Instagram account, Bakare extended her prayers to these trolls, hoping that with divine intervention, they would not bear the weight of responsibility for actions that are not their own.
She wrote:
”In the cause of catching cruise, and seeking attention. May you not carry cross/ calamity that you’ll continue to nurse for the rest of your life”
Bakare who utilizes her social media platform to expose important issues that require attention raised concerns about the audacity and intentions of trolls who lack empathy and contribute to people’s depression.
The mother of one pondered on the root cause of the prevalence of hate in the world. She questioned whether it is due to inadequate upbringing, uneventful lives, or the detrimental impact of bad governance that drives trolls to wish ill will upon others. Despite acknowledging that trolls can improve their behaviour, Bakare suggested that they unfollow individuals they are not comfortable with, rather than resorting to bullying tactics.
She wrote:
“What exactly do you stand to gain if your words/actions make someone go into Depression or commit su*cide ??? Why is there so much hate in the heart of some people…. Is it a bad upbringing or a boring life ??? Is it the bad government that should be held responsible for you wishing someone else de*th/bad luck ???
