Actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku has emphasized the importance of Nigerians preserving Afrobeats’ identity and origins, glamsquad reports.

Mary, who recounted how someone claimed that plantain chips were “invented” in America and how a foreigner who does not speak Yoruba was recognized as the one who named Nigerian youths the “Sorosoke Generation,” stated that we must always emphasize that Afrobeats originated in Nigeria before it becomes a “jollof rice” story.
