Lucien Laviscount rumored to be the next James Bond

Lucien Laviscount, the 30-year-old star actor in Emily in Paris , is rumored to be a replacement for the role of James Bond, following Daniel Craig’s departure from the franchise.

According to some British publications, producer Barbara Broccoli, 62, co-owner of the production company behind the James Bond franchise, Eon Productions, has shown interest in casting Lucien Laviscount in the iconic role.

The Daily Mail has reported that Lucien Laviscount’s performance as the main character’s love interest, Alfie, in two seasons of Emily in Paris has made him a top contender for the role of James Bond.

An insider said;

“Lucien ticks all of the boxes. He is a super talented actor, is extremely handsome and in the past 18 months has won lots of new fans since he joined Emily In Paris. Bond bosses are already saying how you can see him in the 007 tuxedo, how dapper and fitting to the role he will look.”

Despite reportedly being favored for the role, Lucien Laviscount’s appearance on the reality show “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2011 may prevent him from being cast as James Bond. Bond producers reportedly view the show as lowbrow and not suitable for a Bond actor, despite generally holding Laviscount in high regard.

The source also said

 “‘Lucien appeared on the show at a time when his acting career was not as high-profile as it is now. But he was very popular then and has a fan base now which stretches a generation. That is a dream for Barbara, who is very taken with him.”

According to insiders, Barbara Broccoli is seeking an actor who can portray James Bond for 15 years. With the next film not scheduled to begin production for at least two years, this rules out many older actors from consideration.

Bookmakers have been placing speculating on who will be the next James Bond, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 32, of Kick-Ass fame as the current favorite according to William Hill. Other contenders named by the bookmakers include Tom Hardy, Rege-Jean Page, and Richard Madden.
