The fifth edition of Glam and Essence Style Awards, a platform for honouring personalities that have contributed to the growth of the Nigerian Fashion Industry, is set to hold in Lagos on October 30, 2016.
According to a statement signed by the Publisher of Glam and Essence magazine and chief organizer of the event, Mrs. Susan Eyo Honesty, the ceremony which will have style personalities, fashion designers, beauty gurus and celebrities in attendance also provides an opportunity for appreciating the ever evolving world of fashion, style and beauty from the Nigerian perspective.
Eyo said the style awards and runway which began in 2011 was necessitated by the need to recognize creative designers and stylists that have made a huge impact in the ever growing fashion industry in Nigeria.
She further said there will be a display of fabulous collections from the showcasing designers, which includes Keto Couture, Fin Afrik, Luxury by Feyi, Topstitches, Otumemine Couture, JF Labels and Rhoda Michaels as well as live performances from some Nigerian artistes and comedians during the event.
“Glam and Essence Style Awards and Runway Show is an event aimed at appreciating the ever evolving world of fashion, style and beauty. This year, some distinguished individuals that have contributed to this profound change will be honoured.
“There would also be a display of fabulous collections from the showcasing designers, which includes Keto Couture, Fin Afrik, Luxury by Feyi, Topstitches, Otumemine Couture, JF Labels and Rhoda Michaels.
“Also, a special honour will be given to renowned designer and forerunner of contemporary African fashion, Zizi Cardow, as well as a display of her newest collection at the show in her honour. Another special appearance by London based Nigerian born designer, Feyi Adeyemi of Luxury by Feyi will be made at the event.
“The event would see style personalities; fashion designers, beauty gurus and celebrities in attendance. There would also be live performances from some Nigerian artistes and comedians,” she said.
