The mention of sexual assault and rape brings out an awkward reaction from every reasonable human being.

But as unreasonable as it feels and should be, it has become a commodity at the corners of many streets, in communities, in churches and the society at large.

It’s always a delicate issue. Every of its path is slippery, for the accusers, the accused, including commentators. The victims are at the receiving end and carry the burden for years.

We know the topic of sexual assault and rape has been trending for some time now, but in compiling this life, we were very careful not to promote fake news and unconfirmed allegations.

So, there is a tendency that you may not find some names you expected to see. After-all, we only picked 38 names from the large pile!

 

Here are some high profile celebrities who have been accused of sexual assault and/or rape:

  1. House of Cards Actor Kevin Spacey was suspended from “House of Cards” due to sexual misconduct allegations.
  2. After admitting to accusations of sexual misconduct, his film “I Love You, Daddy” was put on hold as well as an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
  3. After shaming his brother’s behavior, Bob Weinstein was accused of repeatadly making advances on an executive producer.
  4. Nigerian musician, Peruzzi was accused of rape and sexual assault, which he denied. Although he had posted statements like “I am a Rapist”, “I feel like raping someone” on his social media account in the past.
  5. Former President George H.W. Bush’s spokesman appologized for any sexual assault allegations against him, saying that he would never intenionally cause distress.
  6. Actor Ben Affleck was accused of groping an actress, but never commented on the incident.
  7. After harassment claims, Jeffrey Tambor left his role in “Transparent”, an Amazon Series.
  8. Sylvester Stallone allegedly sexually assualted a 16-year-old while making a movie in 1986.
  9. James Toback was dropped by his agent after the director and writer was accused of sexual harassment.

  35. African China: According to a report by Pulse Ng, the Nigerian artiste, known as African China was accused of rape when he was in London for a show.
  36. Timaya: “Everybody calls him Timaya” and he was definitely “getting higher” as one of his songs stated, but things almost took a deadly turn when Sheila B came out in 2015 to accuse him of rape.

  38. Brymo: For music lovers, the name Brymo means “good music” but there is nothing good coming from his camp lately in terms of controversies. A few weeks ago, a Twitter user accused the “Yellow” artist of being a rapist.
