Fast rising OAP and Lagos Jump Radio host Amen Okosun in a recent interview with Glamsquadmagazine talks about her aspirations, goals and being in the media industry as a young plus size radio personality. In her words, you need passion to be in the media, and that is why I have embraced the media since childhood.
In the world of media, you are gradually building quit some reputation for yourself as one of the next sort after OAPs to look after tomorrow, do you think you have what it takes to compete with the best?

What are the major challenges in the media?
Government policy put a strain on freedom of press and social media I know you might be wondering why social media but it has made us media personality kinda irrelevant.
What was childhood for you, any fond memories? What’s your ethnicity? Oh yes, your birthday too?
My childhood was a rollacosta for me, my fondest was going out with my dad for ice cream, I am from EDO state and was born December 19th.
Who is Amen Okosun?
Amen is versatile soul fondly called “sexy lips” by my friends and colleagues, I love meeting new people and talking so which drove me into the media. I’m a very passionate person who cares and put the needs of others before her’s, very playful but very hard working and I never give up.

How difficult has it been with the acceptance as a plus size lady in the media?
Lol… You know a lot of people say you can’t make it in the media because you are plus size but I think one needs to have confidence in yourself and what you do and besides big girls are taking over right now.

How has your experience been working in one of Lagos fast growing online radio Lagos Jump Radio?
Oh that has been a wonderful experience, it allows me connect with people all over the world and I always like to promote Africa and Nigeria to the rest of the world.

Lol…. That is my baby cynosure talk show, it is a different kind of show entirely; it’s different from what we see out there so watch out guys I don’t want to say so much right now just watch out for that.

What’s your educational background in media?
B.SC mass communication so you see it’s a thing of passion.
What are your aspirations and goals years from now?
My aspiration is to be a force to reckon with in the media and be a role model to those who have dreams.
What is your advice for Media and Entertainment hopefuls?
Never let anyone tell you, you can’t always push never give and know your selling point.
