The veteran NollyWood actor and film producer has praised Tems for her controversial outfit for the 2023 Academy Awards. Yul Edochie praised Tems for upholding Nigerian pride in the midst of the ongoing social media debate over her “view-blocking” Oscars gown, glamsquad reports

She was praised for being one of the best-dressed celebrities at the 95th Academy Awards, but she was also chastised for blocking the view of those behind her with her gown.
Edochie commented on the hot topic, comparing her to American actor Will Smith, who was the internet’s talk of the previous Oscar ceremony.
Regardless of the criticisms leveled at Tems’ attire, Yul praised Tems for putting Nigeria on the map.
“Before you criticize @temsbaby for her Oscar dress, go to the Oscars first,” he wrote. Tems stole the show this year, just like Will Smith’s slap did last year. Congratulations, young lady. We are very proud of you. Nigeria is extremely proud of you.”
And don’t forget Will Smith made headlines last year for hitting Chris Rock, one of the Oscar hosts in 2022, when the comedian made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. After receiving a prize for his performance in King Richard, he later expressed regret for his on-stage behavior.
