Nollywood Box Office Queen, Funke Akindele has expressed overwhelming joy as she extends her gratitude to Nigerians and Ghanaians for their support in helping her create a historic moment.
Funke shattered the existing record in the Nigerian film industry, becoming the first Nollywood movie to achieve a billion-naira gross in a remarkably short time. She made a whopping one billion, sixty million, seven hundred and eleven thousand, four hundred and ninety-one.
Other movies topping the list are Funke Akindele’s Battle On Buka Street, and Omo Ghetto The Saga.
Taking to her Instagram page, the mother of two thanked Nigerians and Ghanaians for their support in helping her create history. She acknowledged that she was unable to adequately articulate their remarks and the immense love they had for her.
Tagging her cast and crew amazing, she extended her appreciation to them.
She also expressed gratitude to her colleagues, industry veterans, musicians, and celebrities for their contributions to her endeveours.
She wrote:

“The comments I have read here on social media and the love I have witnessed is one that I cannot express but from the bottom of my heart, I am grateful.
