Award-winning comedian, Ayo Makun better known as AY has tendered an unreserved apology to singer, Davido for making a harsh joke about him.
AY got into trouble when a video of him making negative remarks about Davido during a show in Warri became viral on the internet.
The comedian choose to joke about Davido, specifically mentioning Davido’s multiple baby mamas.
The father described the singer as having a “small penis,” which he uses to father children with different women.
He further compared his own situation, claiming to possess a “big dick” however, he himself has only fathered two children with significant time gaps between their births. He expressed his amazement at how Davido managed to have so many baby mamas despite what he believed to be a modest physical attribute.
This specific joke didn’t go over well with Davido’s crew, including Netizens, who considered it offensive and not suitable.
Many criticized AY for making personal and possibly hurtful comments about Davido and his family situation. Some thought his comedic style went too far and was in bad taste.
Taking to his Instagram page Ay noted how Davido had every reason to be upset with him, especially considering how blogs twisted the situation.
He acknowledged that the entertainment industry is a constant learning process, and he understands and accepts any criticism or negative feedback he receives for the poorly delivered joke.
He pleaded with Davido not to dwell on it and stated that he still considers himself Davido’s biggest fan.
“I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn’t even call it a joke anymore. It wasn’t funny like it was during my tour of the US and Canada, and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it.
Please know that it is always a learning experience for all of us in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash or negative thoughts coming my way for the joke that was badly delivered in Warri. So, no excuses at all, my Aburo. No reason am. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido”.
