Less than one week after Cate Blanchett ruled the Golden Globes in a lemon-yellow pleated Mary Katrantzou gown with a crystal harness, the doyenne of offbeat colour palettes is back in the spotlight, clicking her heels in a new pair of boots.

Founded in 2012 by Turkish designer Dora Teymur, the brand’s sculptural silhouettes with barbell and circular buckle details once made their way on to the well-shod feet of street stylers the world over.
They might have fallen out of favour in recent years – owing to an influx of more architectural shoes, from the likes of Rihanna-favourite Amina Muaddi and even Bottega Veneta – but Dorateymur still has a loyal following. Solange and Bella Hadid are fans, and even the Kardashians have dabbled in the directional footwear.
