Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti has expressed his opinion about controversial social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, better known as Verydarkman (VDM).
Verydarkman who started off on the right path advocating for justice on social media became controversial over time after he started hurling insults at people and weighing in on issues of less significance. Consequently, he got entangled in issues with actresses, Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, crossdresser, Bobrissky and a few others.
A few days ago, Glamsquad reported that VDM after attending Davido’s wedding, VeryDarkMan criticized the celebrities who attended, claiming they lacked status as many sneaked into the event. He stated that Iyabo Ojo and influencer Ashmusy were only invited to the after-party, not the main wedding. He also alleged that Nkechi Blessing was almost bounced at the venue.
Paulo who is in a relationship with Iyabo defended her and expressed pity for VDM. He suggested that someone might have cursed him. In response, VDM advised Paulo to avoid his issues with Iyabo.
Paulo then retaliated, telling Davido and others to choose sides between them.

Weighing into the drama, billionaire, Obi Cubana asked Nigeria blogs to stop promoting youths disrespecting elders on social media. His statement didn’t sit well with VDM, who hit back at him.
A few days later, VDM shared a screenshot of his chats with blogger, Tunde Ednut, who asked him to apologize to the businessman. However, in the chat, VDM stated that he would rather die than apologize to Obi Cubana.
He declared that anyone who called him to discuss the matter would face his wrath, insisting he deserved their apology. Very Dark Man emphasized that he doesn’t worship money or people, but only God and his ancestors.
Reacting to the drama via an Instagram live session, Seun stated that Verydarkman is a necessity. He said the former serves a necessary purpose, particularly in holding corrupt politicians and their enablers accountable.
The father of one emphasized that while he values his relationship with Paulo, he cannot be publicly ordered around.
He said in parts,
“I have a good relationship with Paulo but that doesn’t give him the right to order me publicly. Even if Paulo has helped me, he can’t order me publicly. If he had called me on the phone, I would probably have cut ties with VDM by now. Because I don’t know how much the beef is worth to him,”
“So that’s what I see in the relationship that we all have with ourselves in Nigeria. VDM for me is a necessity. VeryDarkMan is a necessity. Because he can do the personal. But I don’t know how to. VeryDarkMan can bring the people against the agents of corrupt politicians. Those people with the spirits of the politicians. Those politicians enablers who use their fame to bully the powerless.”
