Sportmax Resort 2023 Collection

Some amazing designs were displayed at the Sportmax Resort 2023 Collection that left tongue wagging.

Think of a broad-shouldered, cinched-waisted black leather dress with leg-of-mutton extra-long sleeves or an hourglass-shaped coat/dress in striped denim with strong jutting shoulders, worn with matching trailing pants.

Victorian elements such as puffy sleeves, corseted-like waistlines, ruffled collars, and full multi-layered skirts were added to otherwise clean-cut pieces.

The Victorian theme was also hinted at by a number of high-collared, oversized poplin shirts with miles-long sleeves and a tight-fitting blue lycra dress with a ruffled bavolet.

Lysergic pieces included a slender knitted two-piece tunic with vivid undulating jacquard motifs, as well as a sleeveless midi dress with a fluted skirt.

However, as is frequently the case with Sportmax, the collection’s best component was the tailoring, which made a statement without the need for any historical allusion.

A chic example was a straight-cut duchesse coat in black with no lapels that was coolly lined with a lab-white canvas gilet that could be removed.
