Nigerian musician Runtown is in dispute with his record label Eric Manny Limited over contractual issues. Via letters sent to the label by the singer’s Lawyers, he claims that there has been a threat made to his life and that he has been unfairly treated by the record label.
Meanwhile the record label owned by Billionaire Okwudili Umenyiora have previously filled a court injunction that prevents Runtown from performing and engaging in other revenue generating musical activities until this dispute is resolved.
The dispute, deducing from the letters sent are financial. It is a regular thing in music when an artists keeps getting big that disagreements over profit sharing begin to arise.
Runtown who came to Lagos from Enugu in 2007 with Phyno and partnered with the same to form penthouse records, was signed by Eric Manny records after his song Gallardo became a massive hit.
