Queen Elizabeth II becomes world’s second-longest serving monarch

Glamsquad reports that the Queen of England has become the world’s second-longest reigning monarch.

 

The monarch had attained 70 years and 127 days as of Monday, June 13, trailing only Louis XIV of France, who became king at the age of four.

On Sunday, June 12, she surpassed Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who died in 2016, by equaling his reign.

 

 

The monarch Platinum old’s Jubilee was celebrated with four days of festivities across the UK last weekend.

 

Queen Elizabeth II becomes the monarch with the second-longest reign.

 

If the Queen is still reigning in May 2024, she will be the longest-reigning modern monarch.

From 1643 to 1715, Louis XIV reigned for 72 years and 110 days. However, he did not assume rulership personally until he was in his twenties, in 1661.

 

Following her father’s death in the early hours of February 6, 1952, the Queen became monarch at the age of 25.

She surpassed her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria’s reign as the longest-reigning British monarch in September 2015.

 

Her other distinctions include being the oldest reigning queen and British monarch ever.
