Lady Susan Hussey, the Queen’s lady-in-waiting and the godmother of Prince William, met with the head of a black charity in Britain, Ngozi Fulani, today to express her sincere regret for repeatedly asking her, “What region of Africa are you from?,” during a royal reception, glamsquad reports

The 83-year-old, who spent 60 years serving the late Queen, resigned from her honorary position “with immediate effect” in the face of criticism after Miss Fulani tweeted about her attendance at the event last month.
Racism has no place in our society, Prince William criticized his godmother’s “unacceptable words” in a statement.
After the uproar, Lady Susan Hussey demanded to see Ngozi Fulani, the creator of Sistah Space, in person to apologize for repeatedly asking Fulani where she was “truly” from.
The conversation took place on Friday at Buckingham Palace, and the former assistant apologized “sincerely.”
The statement also criticized the “torrent of abuse” Miss Fulani has since endured on social media and expressed the King and Queen Consort’s “pleasedness that both parties have reached this pleasant resolution.”
The Palace released the following statement today: “Lady Susan offered her deepest apologies at this meeting, full with warmth and empathy, for the remarks that were said and the grief they caused to Ms. Fulani.

Lady Susan has promised to increase her understanding of the sensitivity issues at hand and is appreciative of the chance to learn more about the problems in this field.
“Ms. Fulani, who has unjustly endured the most horrific barrage of abuse on social media and elsewhere, has accepted this apology and recognizes that no malice was intended,” the statement reads.
