Human Rights Activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, confirmed the release of media personality Agba Jalingo, glamsquad reports.

Glamsquad previously reported that Jalingo, the publisher of CrossRiverWatch, was arrested on mufti on Friday August 19 at his Alapere, Ketu, Lagos home and taken to Area F Police Station, Ikeja for a story he published about a lecturer facing prosecution after allegedly cheating in a Nigerian Law School examination.
According to Falana, Jalingo was released around 10 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, after a request was made to the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Babaji Sunday.

The statement was as follows:
“When Agba Jalingo arrived in Abuja yesterday, he was dumped at the Abattoir detention camp, where he was held incommunicado.”
“On Sunday, we immediately contacted Mr. Babaji, the Commissioner of Police of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, to request his unconditional release from police custody.”
