Ghanaian dancehall singer Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., alias Shatta Wale, has stated that no Ghanaian performer is currently as popular as Nigerian singer Asake.

On Wednesday, he announced this in a Twitter space sponsored by Ghanaian media personality Serwaa.
“No Ghanaian artiste has even made it like Asake,” Shatta Wale claimed. Not even myself.
“Nobody in the Ghanaian [music] industry has accomplished what Asake has accomplished.” Let’s be honest.”
“But you said you are the richest Ghanaian artiste, and you haven’t even made it up to Asake’s level?” the host inferred.
“Why would I have to reach Asake’s level [before becoming Ghana’s richest artiste]?” Shatta Wale responded. There is a Spanish musician in either Spain or the Dominican Republic.
Glamsquad recalls that Shatta Wale recently asserted that the successes of Nigerian musicians have dwarfed the achievements of their Ghanaian counterparts while congratulating Asake for selling out the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.
