Nigerian Idol will be broadcast in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, and more than 50 African countries

Nigerian Idol, a popular music reality competition, will not be limited to Nigeria when it premieres on February 6, 2022.

The performance will also be streamed on Showmax, a video-on-demand platform, across Africa and internationally in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia, and New Zealand, according to the organizers.

From the auditions to the theatrical week and live events, which begin on March 20, 2022, viewers in those nations will be able to follow all of the excitement and drama.

Confirming the development, the Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels MultiChoice Nigeria, Busola Tejumola, said, “Fans of Nigerian Idol in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia and 23 other countries will be able to stream the talent show on Showmax. This is in addition to the series being available across Africa on the streaming service.”

The three-month music reality program will follow the lives of talented and aspiring artists as they go through rigorous training to become the next big thing in music. The winner would receive N100 million in prize money, the most money ever awarded in a singing competition in Nigeria.

Showmax will also air highlights and audition processes from the upcoming season, as well as from the previous season.
