Controversial afro-beat singer, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, recently became the first African celebrity to break an Instagram comment record.
The Am I Yahoo Boy crooner got over 40,000 comments just five hours after sharing a post on his Instagram page.
While sharing a teaser video of his hit song Soapy on his Instagram page, Naira Marley had requested that his fans to help him achieve the feat and promised to release the music video for Soapy. His fans popularly known as ‘Marlians’ quickly rushed to his page to leave a comment and some even commented more than once, giving the post over 40,000 comments in record time.
He wrote:
“40,000 comments and I will release Soapy official video. Marlians take your time, don’t rush.”
Marley’s Soapy song was accompanied by a new dance, which has generated different reactions from the public. While a portion of his fans don’t see anything amiss with the new move, others have communicated their disappointment about the move which copies a man jerking off.
