‘My family thought I was mentally not okay’ Maria Chike shares postpartum struggles

Reality TV star, Maria Chike Benjamin has opened up on her postpartum struggles.

In a recent episode of her podcast “Mums Next Door” Maria disclosed that her family thought she was mentally unstable. According to her, she was adamant about not allowing anyone to carry her baby.

She said

“I didn’t let anyone carry my baby, and at some point, I was irritating everyone. My family thought I was mentally not okay”.

The Big Brother Naija former housemate shared the news with a heartwarming photo of herself, her partner and their son. In her caption, she spoke about how her precious baby boy had already begun to change her life in profound ways.

Sharing her experience as a first-time mom, Maria expressed her struggles with breastfeeding, humorously advising her fans to be wary of Igbo boys due to their hearty appetites. She also opened up about her pregnancy challenges, including dealing with “Mummy brain.”

In February 2024, rumours surfaced that Maria and her baby daddy had tied the knot. She fueled these speculations by showing off a ring on her wedding finger in a picture shared on social media.
