Mohbad: Police deploy tear gas to disperse crowd during  candlelight procession in Lekki

The candlelight procession held in honour of late singer, Mohbad turned into a night of horror for many.

Glamsquad Magazine gathered that the candlelight march which commenced at 5 pm at Lekki Phase 1 gate and ended at Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island, descended into chaos as a significant number of the late singer’s supporters declined to disperse and gathered at Lekki Toll Gate instead.

Further reports revealed that at approximately 8 p.m., attendees were advised to return home following the conclusion of the candlelight procession.

Media personality Do2dtun, took to social media to clarify that despite the procession’s conclusion at Muri Okunola Park, a group of ‘enthusiastic Nigerians’ had congregated at the Lekki Toll Gate.

Consequently, men of the Nigerian Police Force deployed tear gas at those who converged at the Toll Gate. In a series of videos circulated on social media,  people sustained various degrees of injuries as others ran for their dear lives.
