Osita Iheme is popularly remembered for playing the role of Papaya in the film Aki na Ukwa opposite Chinedu Ikedieze. Osita Iheme is the originator of the Inspired Movement for Africa, which he established to motivate, inspire and stimulate the minds of young Nigerians and Africans. In 2007, Iheme received the award for his body of work at the African Movie Academy Awards. He is indeed one of the most distinguished actors in Nigeria. Osita Iheme was commemorated as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR)In 2011, by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Early in his career, Osita Iheme used to be rugged as a child. In 2003, he garnered attention when he featured alongside colleague Chinedu Ikedieze in the comedy film Aki na Ukwa, in which he played the role of Pawpaw. In this role, Osita Iheme played a naughty child. He played the role of a child in several of his films but later took more mature roles. The pair ended up becoming what many consider, one of the funniest Nollywood comedy actors of all time.

He was appointed Rotary International’s New Generation Ambassador for District 9110 and the author of the book INSPIRED 101. Osita Iheme has appeared in over 100 films and is one of the most popular faces of Nollywood. Like his colleague, Chinedu Ikedieze, Iheme is also a physicist. Iheme’s stature gave him the advantage of being different from other actors in the Nigerian film industry.

He has evolved throughout his career from comic acting to multifaceted actor. This earned him respect across the Nigerian film industry and among his fans. He revealed in 2018, however, that he hopes to become a politician one day.
