Lookbook: Marine Serre FAall 2024 Ready-To-Wear Collection

Marine Serre’s Fall 2024 Ready-To-Wear Collection showcases the French designer’s unique vision of sustainability and modernity in fashion. Known for her signature crescent moon motif, Serre intertwines elements of sportswear and couture in a harmonious blend of functionality and sophistication.

The opening included a decidedly Serre-esque blend of athletic and nighttime to morning attire, beginning with a knitted leather coat with panels that looked like “fur” and transitioning into sheer black skirts with flocking. Black tracksuit over faux python heeled boots replaced a black knit sparkle-moon dress and cardigan over bodysuit.

Following were two loose suits in a non-moon black-on-black check jacquard, thigh-highs and rugged jackets in smoked-finish moon leathers, and two all-over black on white moon print outfits (accessorized by a shopping caddy occupied by vegetables and a baby carrier).

More knitwear in brighter hues and an assortment of exquisitely draped recycled scarf pieces preceded a sequence of moiré looks, which included two amazing sportily-corseted fitting ruched gowns. Next were workwear and trousers with a moon symbol, leather and jersey with a python print, and a blue marinière sweater. Fork-head earrings and a necklace made of recycled key fobs—a passion that Serre’s grandfather, Jean-Jacques, used to share—were two fantastic accents. An ergonomically correct pattern was created by manipulating the print of a historic brooch collection to create a body suit.

Overall, Marine Serre continues to push boundaries in the realm of sustainable fashion with her Fall 2024 collection, setting new standards for both style and ethical design practices.
