Lil Kesh gone, Adekunle Gold going…. Is YBNL falling apart?

The news of Lil Kesh leaving YBNL (an acronym for Yahoo Boy No Laptop) Record label owned by ace Nigerian rapper and performer Olamide Adedeji, popularly called Olamide Baddo came to many as a social media fabrication until the story picked momentum, leading to both parties confirming the gossips that indeed they have reached common grounds and decided to move on with their careers on separate paths.

Although both parties tried to handle the issue in every professional way possible, many fans and followers alike could not phantom the reasons behind their disparity especially since the YBNL boss, Olamide had created a scene at an award ceremony recently just because the organizers had picked another artist for the Next Rated Award ahead of his own Kesh. What may have gone wrong these past few weeks remains a nut hard to crack.

As the storm raised by Lil Kesh’s sudden exit from the label dies down, YBNL is in the news again; this time it is the ‘single and searching’ crooner, Adekunle Gold who is believed to be considering his options as to whether to hit the road.

The news of Gold’s possible exit from YBNL leaves the label with only two ‘recognized’ artists in Olamide himself and the ‘casa’ rapper, Chinko Ekun. Although this is neither the first nor the last of artists dumping their record labels, such scenarios have always spelled doom for many of these labels and a lot of fans are scared as to whether the same fate will befall YBNL; the next few weeks will tell.
