Nigerian music sensation, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has disclosed new details about his marriage to Chioma Rowland.
During a recent interview, Davido revealed that he met Chioma before achieving financial success and fame as a superstar. He expressed that if he hadn’t met Chioma during that period, he would find it difficult to consider marriage now, fearing that women would be interested in him solely for his wealth and status.
Davido emphasized that he finds greater happiness in the fact that his inner circle mostly comprises those who were by his side before he attained fame and wealth.
He said,
“I have a friend, anytime I am on the phone with my wife, he would say he has everything in the world, but a wife is what he is missing.
I met my wife before I had money, but I was telling myself if I didn’t meet her before then and now I am single, and I meet a girl, it wouldn’t be the same. I would feel the lady is talking to me because I am Davido and I have money. My own success is when I see people around who were there when I had nothing and they see me now, that’s the feeling, not like when you blow up and start hanging out with a new set of people. You need to keep the people that were there with you since grinding”.

Glamsquad recalls that in previous interviews, Davido narrated how he met his wife, Chioma Rowland while at Babcock University where he was studying Music and Chioma was studying Economics.
According to him, he had wooed her in his first year at the University and she had turned him down despite his celebrity status.
He also recalled how he sent his PA to call Chioma and she declined, but they later met up in Lagos where things got heated from there.
The celebrity couple tied the knot in 2022 following the loss of their son.
