Nigerian singer, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman better as Oxalade has revealed how he lost multimillion deals because of his s3xtapes.
In an interview with entertainment journalist, Joey Akan, Oxlade confirmed that the private videos were real. He claimed that he was being blackmailed over the tape and expressed relief that he no longer had to continue paying for the blackmail he was subjected to. Oxlade disclosed that it had a significant impact on his family, with his grandmother repeatedly asking if he wanted to kill her.
Oxlade added that the ordeal pushed him into a dark phase, leading him to seek rehabilitation in the UK. He further stated that Nigerians should have recognized it as an agenda against him, pointing out that multiple videos were released, not just one.
Sharing his lessons from the scandal, he reiterated that the key lesson he learned was the realization that it’s often individuals from within his community who pose the greatest challenges, as some were fearful of his progress and advancement.

Glamsquad recalls that in February 2022, Oxalade became the center of attention for several days after a private video of him engaging in intimate activities with a woman was shared on Snapchat.
The woman involved subsequently filed a lawsuit against him, seeking N20 million in damages for the distress caused by the incident.
Oxlade later issued an unreserved apology regarding the video, expressing his awareness of the implications of his private life being exposed to the public. He emphasized that he is not someone who shares personal matters publicly.
Acknowledging the reality of betrayals, Oxlade expressed regret that the woman involved in the viral tape had been exposed without her consent, particularly as her identity was not concealed. He extended his apologies to her.
In 2023, Justice Olalekan Oresanya of an Ikeja High Court ordered Oxlade to pay N5 million in damages. The judge described the singer’s actions as “despicable, horrendous, distasteful, and classless,” cautioning him against similar behaviour in his future relationships.
