“He’s feeling better”- Tim Allen says Jay Leno is still ‘handsome’ despite suffering face burn

Tim Allen said after recovering from third-degree burns, Jay Leno will resemble George Clooney.

The “Last Man Standing” star paid a visit to the former “Tonight Show” host, who has been in the hospital since Sunday when one of his classic automobiles caught fire in an accident.

“He’s feeling better,” Allen told paparazzi. “We did some jokes, which is what we do. We commiserated.”

Despite suffering burns to his face, hands, and chest, Leno is expected to recover completely.

“He’s handsome and he’s happy,” Allen said. “The hospital is doing a great job taking care of him.”

Leno, 72, who was wearing bandages, spent time in a hyperbaric tank this week to aid in the healing process. According to his doctor, the tank lowers swelling, raises blood flow, and lowers bacteria.

The “Jay Leno’s Garage” host underwent one procedure that was referred to as a “grafting procedure,” according to Dr. Peter Grossman, who also said on Wednesday that the patient was in “good” condition. This week, he will also undergo a second procedure.

He said: “His injuries are serious, his condition is good,” the doctor said, adding that Leno “did well” during the first surgery.

“He is in good spirits.”

Leno said earlier this week that an explosion in the 1907 White Steam Car was caused by a fuel leak and simultaneous spark while he was working on his 115-year-old vehicle.

The television star claimed that his friend Dave saved him by smothering the flames by leaping on them.

“I am OK,” Leno said in a statement. “Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”
