Fidelity Bank Partners with Biola Alabi’s “Lara & The Beat” Movie

Fidelity Bank Plc, top Nigerian lender took another bold step in its quest to improve the fortunes of operators in the country’s film industry by supporting the movie ‘Lara and The Beat’.

The movie which premiered at Intercontinental Hotel in Lagos on Sunday, July 8, 2018, amidst fanfare and pageantry was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life as well as movie buffs, captains of industries and members of the diplomatic corps. It was also attended by the film’s cast and crew, including Seyi Shay, Vector, Somkele Idhalama, Chioma Akpotha, Biola Alabi, Lala Akindoju, Saidi Balogun, Folu Storms and Deyemi Okanlawon.

Produced by Biola Alabi Media (BAM) and Directed by Tosin Coker, the movie is about the coming of age of the beautiful Giwa sisters, caught in the center of a financial scandal with their late parents’ media empire. The sisters are forced out of their privileged bubble, and must learn to build their own future – through music and enterprise – to salvage their family’s past. Other themes explored in the movie, as seen at the premiere include financial literacy, family values, sisterhood, friendship, music, fashion, culture, and love.

According to Biola Alabi, the Executive Producer of the film, the movie further reinforces her promise and goal to continue to tell authentic African stories to local and global audiences. “We have worked with the best talents in the industry and engaged in key partnerships and collaborations that have helped to deliver this outstanding movie,” she added.

Speaking at the premiere, Divisional Head, Brand, and Communications, Fidelity Bank Plc, Charles Aigbe said the Bank was motivated by Abiola’s entrepreneurship drive and thus encouraged to support her, in line with its SME focus. “Films and movies are powerful communication channels and they are very important in telling true, authentic and positive Nigerian stories. In addition, we support small and growing businesses like Biola Alabi Media. All of these came together for us in this movie venture” he stated.
