Barely few weeks after superstar musician, Davido revealed that people hate him and have equally refused to support him since he debuted on the Nigerian music scene simply because his father is rich, popular Disc Jockey, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy recently said the same thing.
The talented disc jockey that doubles as a singer has faced series of criticisms for almost every single she has released based on popular opinion that she is riding on the wealth and connection of her billionaire father, Femi Otedola.
In a recent post on her Twitter page, DJ Cuppy claims that about 80% of Nigerians do not like her but she is thankful we have a very large population.
“80% of Nigerian people don’t like me. Good thing we have a large population,” she tweeted.
Reacting to this, controversial Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu argued that DJ Cuppy saying that 80% of Nigerians do not like her could be a sign of depression.
“How can you be this successful as a female disk jockey and yet you still come out to say 80% of Nigerian people don’t like you? Yes, I know they say rich people are never satisfied, but this is an insult to your fans in Nigeria. Look at the massive social media fans you have, if you are not liked, will anyone follow you? Nigerians never stopped loving you; they never stopped believing in your creativity. When haters laughed at your music, Nigerians felt bad and gave you more support, especially women. Today, you are one of the biggest disk jockey in Africa just because of the great support and love we showed you in Nigeria, so, for you to open your mouth and say 80% of Nigerian people don’t like you could be a sign of depression.
