Daniel Regha tags Wizkid’s ₦100 million pledge to Kids as ‘misplaced Priority’

Daniel Regha, one of Nigeria’s social media advisers has criticized Wizkid’s kind gesture towards kids.

Glamsquad reported earlier that Wizkid pledged to donate 100 million naira to children in various parts of the country for Christmas in honour of his late mother, Mr Juliana Morayo Balogun who died in August.

Following this, the Grammy Awards-winning Afrobeats star paid a visit to the Surulere and Makoko areas of Lagos State to fulfil his pledge.

Taking to Microblogging platform X formerly known as Twitter, Daniel Regha stated that Wizkid’s gesture is a sign of misplaced priority.

Regha further noted that the father of three is yet to fulfil his old pledge of building schools across Africa.

He believes it’s acceptable to celebrate with kids during the festive season, but not with a budget of N100 million.

Regha also suggests that the money would be better used for a lasting project, such as constructing a free school to provide education for underprivileged children.

He wrote:

“Wizkid promising to gift children a N100m for Christmas is a m!splaced priority, since he’s yet to fulfil his old pledge of building schools across Africa; If he wishes to celebrate with kids this festive season that’s OK, but nät with a N100m. That money should be channeled into a long-term project, like building a free school to give education to poor children. No offense.”
