Controversial social media personality, Daniel Regha has shared his thoughts about two reigning Afrobeats singers in Nigeria.
In a tweet on his X page, Regha drew a comparison between Ahmed Ololade better known as Asake and Divine Ikubor better known as Rema in an unexpected manner.
According to Daniel, Asake was a more impactful artist than Rema. He attributed Rema’s rising fame to Marvin’s Records, his record label under Don Jazzy‘s leadership, and their effective public relations strategies.
Regha was straightforward in his assessment of their songs. He asserted that Asake’s songs possess deeper meanings compared to Rema’s, stating that Rema often relies on recycled lyrics.
Regha highlighted that despite these differences, both artists are still in the early stages of their careers.
“Asake is a bigger artiste than Rema, but Rema gets better PR thanks to Don Jazzy’s influence & that of Mavin Records. Lyrically speaking Asake has more meaningful songs; Rema 99% of the time recycles lyrics. The only thing they have in common is that both are still upcomers, that’s all. No shades.”
