With her unparalleled talent, captivating content, and personality that shines through the screen, she has become the undisputed Queen of TikTok, capturing the hearts of millions nationwide.

Having taken a critical look into the numerous queens that dominate the world of TikTok,  one stands out – Iyabo Alice Ojo.

How it started

Iyabo Alice Ojo is a Nollywood actress and film producer who has made a huge impact in the entertainment industry.

Iyabo Ojo joined Tiktok in 2020 during the era of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) when the world was thrown into a sudden state of confusion.

While COVID-19 cases were on the rise in various countries, many Nigerians were caught off guard by the magnitude of the bitter pill they would soon have to swallow. The prevalence of this convenient assumption may have been influenced by rumours and speculations suggesting that the virus would struggle to survive in hot and humid regions.

Consequently, Nigerians joined the list of countries that were forced into lockdown and as a result of this, social activities were shut down. People turned to social media to catch a glimpse of entertainment and stay sane.

During the lockdown, many Nigerians sought content that would not only entertain them but also provide a temporary respite from the distressing news of COVID-19-related fatalities.

As many took to social media apps such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, TikTok emerged as a shining knight in armour, captivating users with its unique platform where short-form videos ranging from 15 seconds to one minute could be recorded and shared.

Not being left out of what trends on the Internet, Iyabo Ojo hooped onto Tiktok and shared her first video on the app in April 2020. In the short clip, the actress pretended to be confused by the several forms of her face (the use of TikTok filters).

Iyabo Ojo got incredibly busy after she received positive feedback on her first video. She became motivated to make more hilarious videos; The quadragenarian began to trend on the internet as her videos went viral.

During that time, Iyabo Ojo’s house became a hub for creating numerous videos. She brought various characters to life using her mobile phone, and it wasn’t just limited to herself. Even her children got involved, taking on roles and characters in the videos.

Realising that not everyone is a fan of TikTok yet present on other platforms like Instagram, Iyabo Ojo began exporting her videos to other apps. Fans and colleagues consistently flooded her comment section, expressing their joy through laughter emojis or pleading with her not to make them laugh too hard.

in 2012, Iyabo Ojo won the award for “Best Creative Tiktok Influencer” at the Social Media Hangout held in Lagos.

Iyabo Ojo’s age, education, acting career and 

Iyabo Ojo was born on 21st December 1977. She attended National College, Gbagbada. After graduating, she proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic to pursue a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management.

Acting career

Iyabo discovered her passion for acting during her secondary school days, when she actively participated in the school’s drama group, honing her acting skills.

In 1998, she made her debut in the Nigerian film industry, starring in the movie “Satanic.” Her exceptional performance in this film propelled her into the spotlight, and since then, she has continued to thrive.

Throughout her career, Iyabo has made significant contributions to both Nollywood and Yoruba movies, directly or indirectly. Her talent and dedication have left an indelible mark on the Nigerian film industry. Some of her movies include Satanic, Agogo Ide, Baba Darinjinwon, Okanla, Silence, Beyond Disability, Black Val, Gone to America and Divorce Not Allowed.

Driven by her passion for empowering others, the actress took a step further and established a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) known as Pinkies Foundation.

In 2011, Iyabo Ojo launched Pinkies Foundation with the primary goal of assisting underprivileged children, particularly those facing disabilities. Her dedication to this cause was showcased in the 2015 film “Beyond Disability,” a heartfelt and educational production that she actively participated in.

At the age of 21, Iyabo Ojo entered into matrimony with her estranged husband, a movie marketer based in Lagos, in 1999. Despite the marriage not enduring, it brought two children into their lives – Priscilla and Festus Ojo.

Priscilla Ojo

Priscilla Ajoke Ojo was born on 13th March 2001. She has no doubt followed in her mother’s footsteps. Through Influencing, she has been able to penetrate into the entertainment industry. She has garnered more popularity with over 2 million followers on her Instagram page.

Priscilla received her primary and secondary education from reputable private schools located in Lagos Island.

In 2017, she successfully completed high school and made the decision to pursue a degree in Media and Theater Arts at Babcock University.

Festus Ojo

Festus Oladunjoye Ojo was born on the 21st of June. He is the first and only son of Iyabo Ojo. He doubles as an entrepreneur and influencer.

On 21st December 2022, in celebration of her 45th birthday anniversary,  Iyabo Ojo went Instagram official with her new heartthrob, Media mogul and businessman, Paul Okoye.
