Glamsquad recalls that the multi-talented entertainer announced last year his intention to leave the crib-cracking industry in a few years.

Basketmouth stated on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, hosted by media personality Nedu, that he wants to leave comedy to pursue his dream of starting his own industry.

“When I started comedy, when I started my career, I started with rap,” he explained. Then I began playing the drums. Music evolves from drums in small steps. My first piece of music that I produced was in 1995.

“At the time, I was attempting to combine hip-hop and afrobeats.” But we no sabi do am so e no too work. But we tried.

“When I come discover say I dey do comedy na by chance. I no plan comedy because comedy just dey. But when I see everything, I tell Bright, “Okay, you need to start designing how you want to do this thing [comedy].”

“I intend to create my own industry.” I’m not really a part of the industry. As a result, if you’ve noticed, I don’t put my head inside sitcoms. I don’t put my head in movies. I’m currently working on a film. I don’t go to music concerts. I put on comedy shows. I see that I don’t touch everything. “I’m not releasing an album.”

Basketmouth said he stopped doing stand-up comedy and event hosting six years ago, but few people knew.

He stated that he left because he didn’t enjoy his job as an MC and struggled a lot with it.

“Then, when I get to a certain point, I tire,” he explained. ‘This is not honest,’ I say, because e is not sweet. I was gifted with the ability to perform as a stand-up comedian. I’m not the MC. All of those people, IK, are MCs. We have come by force. I get to a point where I say I’m not going to do it again. Six years ago, I came to avoid MC events.

“As I returned [MC], I returned fully this year.” ‘Bright, you no go fit run five years, you no go fit run the rest of your life doing comedy, so set your time frame to five years so you have time to do it,’ I say. E fit did not even last five years. So you get in shape and have more time to focus on other things.”

Basketmouth continued, “To be honest, I feel like I’m not laying the groundwork for everything I want to do.” This is not where I want to be. There is a plan, but I must complete all of these tasks.”
