Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala has been nominated for the 2023 Women’s Ballon d’Or after a successful campaign with Barcelona Femeni.
French Football, the award’s organizers, unveiled the list of nominees via a tweet on their official account few ago which featured the inclusion of the Nigerian player among the 30 shortlisted candidates.
Oshoala aims to outshine 29 other players, including Women’s World Cup champion Aitana Bonmati, in her quest to secure the award.
Recall that Oshoala clinched the Champions League title with her team and was also a member of the Nigerian squad that exited in the round of 16 during the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand last month.
The 28-year-old Nigerian played a pivotal role in her team’s Primera Division victory last season and contributed to their historic treble by winning the Supercopa de Espana Femenina.
She impressively netted 21 goals in 28 league matches during the same period.
