Elections in Nigeria is determined by the most rugged – Davido reacts to Presidential Election Tribunal verdict

Afrobeats singer, Davido reacted to the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal delivered earlier today.

Following the outcome of the 2023 presidential election which saw APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu emergem winner and subsequently sworn in as president, Peter Gregory Obi of Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took their grievance to the Election Petition Tribunal tendering several evidences why Tinubu’s victory should be revoked.

After months of awaiting the verdict, Justice Haruna Tsammani, Justice Stephen Adah, Justice Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf, Justice Moses Ugo, and Justice Abba Mohammed struck out the petitions of Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party. They went on to upheld the victory of All Progressive Congress.

Reaching, Davido whose uncle, Ademola Adeleke is the sitting Governor of Osun State took to X microblogging platform, formally known as Twitter to let out his thoughts.

According to the ‘Unavailable’ crooner, elections in Nigeria is largely determined by who is more rugged amongst the candidates.

He wrote

“Nigeria election na by who rugged pass. Nawa!”
