Kechi was one of 110 people on board Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145, which took off from Abuja and crashed at Port Harcourt International Airport. The plane crashed into the ground and caught fire. Seven survivors were found and taken to hospitals after the crash, but only two people survived. Kechi is one of the two remaining survivors.

Kechi tweeted about the fateful flight that could have taken her life:

“To the 60 angels: it’s been 17 years since the crash, and I have 60 reasons to keep going.” This year, I published a book and received my MBA. I’ll use these items to make you even more proud. To each soul who died 17 years ago today, we remember you fondly and will never forget you.”
