According to Charly Boy, Obasanjo is the only democratically elected Yoruba president.

“Anything you want to say about Baba,” he tweeted. In my opinion, he is the only DEMOCRATICLY ELECTED Yoruba President ever…

“Baba, nothing works for you. Twale for me. Aremu Olusegun OBASANJO, President.”

Obasanjo was elected president in 1999 and ruled the country for eight years.

President Bola Tinubu, on the other hand, was elected in a hotly contested election in 2023.

Despite his triumph, the opposition challenged his election in court.

They alleged that the 2023 election was characterised by electoral fraud and that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, fixed the election to benefit Tinubu.
