Jonathan Cheung named new Creative Director of Lululemon

Lululemon, the renowned activewear brand, recently announced the appointment of Jonathan Cheung as its new Creative Director. With an impressive track record in fashion and innovative design strategies, Cheung is expected to take Lululemon’s creative vision to new heights.

Jonathan Cheung will oversee the company’s worldwide design team in his new role as global creative director. He replaces Phil Dickinson, who passed away in May of last year. Cheung answers to Sun Choe, Lululemon’s chief product officer. JJ Collier, who will report to Cheung, has also joined Lululemon’s global design team in the newly created role of vice president, design, outerwear.

Both positions will be based in Vancouver and will take effect on Monday.

Cheung brings more than 30 years of experience in creative and business leadership to Lululemon. Most recently, he was a consultant to brands such as Gap Inc., Mattel Inc., Merrell and Pangaia, and has advised multiple start-up companies at the intersection of material science and technology. Earlier, he was senior vice president of design and design innovation at Levi’s. Cheung has held roles in the U.S., U.K., Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and China, and has worked with Franco Moschino and Giorgio Armani.

This appointment reflects Lululemon’s commitment towards fostering creativity and innovation within its brand, further solidifying its position as a leader in active lifestyle apparel.
